LDS Check In is an app for LDS church members that improves reporting of home/visiting teaching and class attendance, enabling higher accuracy in ward metrics. The intent is for this app to provide an alternative to the "clipboard passed around the room" method commonly used today in Elders Quorum, High Priests Group, and Relief Society.
In addition to this (and more importantly), this app allows regular LDS members to view their current home/visiting teaching assignments, and report their visits into LDS.org. A desired effect is for this app to change the role of District Supervisors to be that of a minister, rather than an administrator. Using this app, a presidency may alleviate pressures on District Supervisors to call/text each companionship every month, and instead free them up to minister to their district members, by being able to better pay attention to the individual rather than the report.
It is the goal and purpose of this app to, first, enhance the Home and Visiting Teaching experience, and second, bring paper and pen attendance reports into the digital age.
Want to help develop this app? It is, and will ever remain, completely free and open source! Check out https://github.com/calicolabs/lds-checkin for more information.
